Richard F. “Dick” Slusser, 66

Richard F. “Dick” Slusser, 66, of 1108 Avenue D Riverside PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday morning, June 11, 2010 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  He was born April 26, 1944 in Berwick PA the son of the late Herwood F. and Lola L. Snyder Slusser. 

He graduated from Nescopeck High School in 1963.  He was employed for 35 years as a cardiopulmonary perfusionist at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA from where he retired. 

Mr. Slusser was a member of First Baptist Church Danville PA where he served faithfully as a deacon and on the Mission Board.  He also served with the ARMS group of the church.  Mr. Slusser enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed attending Silver Sneakers at the Danville Area Community Center.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria K. Hultzapple Slusser whom he married May 25, 1968.  Also surviving are three daughters; Christina L. Wetzel and her husband Allen of Hughesville PA; Cara M. Eckard and her husband Todd of Danville PA and Corinne R. Slusser, at home.  He is also survived by five grandchildren; Braeden and Briannan Eckard and Tanner, Tyler and Trent Wetzel.  Also surviving is one brother, Robert Slusser of Nescopeck PA.  He was preceded in death by one brother, James Slusser.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his life to be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 5:00 PM from First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Harry H. Wonderland officiating assisted by the Reverend Dawes Dunham.  Friends will be received in the Beveridge Family Life Center immediately following the service.  Burial will be private in Northumberland Memorial Park Stonington PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Missions Fund.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
