Raymond W. Freezer, 86, of 37 Meadow Lane Danville PA died Saturday February
9 2008 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. He had previously resided
at 103 Diehl Road Danville PA. He was born June 6 1921 in Loyalsock Twp
Lycoming County Pennsylvania the son of the late Clyde and Cora Hepburn
He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1939. He served as a
lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and
served in the United States Air Force Reserves retiring as captain in 1970.
He was employed as a switchman by Bell Telephone Company for 33 years
retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Peterís Lutheran Church Danville
PA and The Bell Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Freezerís greatest enjoyment was
spending time with his family whom he adored. He also enjoyed hunting,
camping, bike riding, ice skating and baseball.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years Ruth Dahlgren Freezer whom he
married February 19 1944. Also surviving are two sons; Dennis R. Freezer
and his wife Linda of Rockville MD and Jeffrey L. Freezer of Bloomsburg PA
and two daughters; Karen F. May and her husband Randy of Danville PA and
Audrey A. Bardall of Danville PA. He is also survived by seven
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two
step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother LeRoy Freezer of
Montoursville PA and one sister Mary Neidig of Williamsport PA and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; James and
Ralph Freezer and two sisters; Kathryn Balkema and Ruth McAnany.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Thursday
February 14 2008 at 12:00 Noon from St. Peterís Lutheran Church 727 Columbia
Hill Road Danville PA with the Reverend Robert A. Kerchoff officiating.
Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville PA. Friends will be
received from 10:30 AM until time of service at the church. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Peterís Lutheran Church.
