Paul E.  McWilliams, 86

Paul E.  McWilliams, 86, of 16 Sunbury Road Danville PA (Riverside) died Tuesday morning October 9, 2007 at his residence.  He was born February 26, 1921 in Danville PA the son of the late Arthur L. and Emily Lewis McWilliams, Sr. 

He graduated from Danville High School and served as a private first class in the United States Army during World War II serving in France, Germany, England and Iceland. 

He was the owner of McWilliams Meats and Groceries previously located on Bloom Street Danville PA.  After retiring from the grocery business, he did clock and watch repair and also served as a custodian in the Danville Area School District at the Diehl School.  Mr. McWilliams was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church Danville PA.  His other memberships included Disabled American Veterans, a life member of the Danville Elks and a 50 year member of Danville-Mahoning Lodge #224 F&AM. 

Mr. McWilliams enjoyed woodworking, gardening and reading. He also enjoyed clockmaking and repair.   Mr. McWilliams enjoyed amateur radio and belonged to the ARRL.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Eileen N. Harrison McWilliams whom he married May 12, 1945.  Also surviving is one daughter, Maureen E. Wildt and her husband Dennis N., Sr. of Bloomsburg PA; one grandson, Dennis N. Wildt II. and his wife Rhonda of Riverside PA and two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Alexis.  He is also survived by one sister Regina Hartzell of Bloomsburg PA and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers; Arthur L. McWilliams, Jr. and Robert J. McWilliams, Sr. and two sisters; Marian Cohen and Arlene McWilliams, in infancy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Friday, October 12, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Odd Fellows Cemetery 1402 Bloom Road Danville PA with the Reverend Dr. Robert J. Andrews Grove Presbyterian Church officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Thomas Beaver Free Library 19 E. Market Street Danville PA.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.
