Nagle, 91, passed into heaven on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Manor at
Penn Village in Selinsgrove, PA after a brief illness. He was born June 15,
1920 in Athens, Ohio the son of the late George and Cora Thompson Nagle, the
first of three children.
graduated from high school in Amesville, Ohio and attended Ohio University
for one year. Jesse served in the United States Army during World War II as
a mechanic servicing C-47 troop transplant planes. At the end of the war,
he met his wife, the former Frankemae Ellen Andrews of Vincennes, Indiana.
They were married December 24, 1944. They resided there for many years and
were very active members of the Wabash United Methodist Church. Jesse
retired as a Captain of the Vincennes Fire Department. Jesse and Frankemae
retired to Bonita Springs, Florida in 1971 where they moved their church
membership to Bonita Springs United Methodist Church. After Frankemae was
called home to be with her Lord in 1989, Jesse met and eventually married
Esther Kienzle Shaheen on July 4, 1990. They remained in Bonita Springs
until 2004 and then moved to Canton, Ohio. Due to gradual health issues,
Jesse moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to his family.
addition to his wife, he is also survived by his only son, Stephen Nagle and
his wife Kathie of Danville PA and two grandchildren; Andrew Stephen Nagle
and Elisabeth Lea (Nagle) Plante. Also surviving are four
great-grandchildren; Ruth, Alan, Lily and Grant.
and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
