Carrie M. Billmeyer, 94, of 17 Church Street Washingtonville, PA died Saturday evening January 1, 2005 at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville, PA.  The oldest resident of Washingtonville, PA, she was born January 22, 1910 in Riverside, PA the daughter of the late Eugene and Ellen Krum Morrison.

She was employed as a head cook for Seidel’s Turkey Restaurant in Washingtonville, PA and then later for 17 years as a winder and twister for Roselon Yarns, Inc. Danville, PA.

Mrs. Billmeyer was a member of Washingtonville Lutheran Church.  She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Washingtonville Fire Company.  Mrs. Billmeyer enjoyed gardening, lawn work and being outdoors. 

She was married for 35 years to Thomas D. Billmeyer who preceded her in death April 30, 1971.  She is survived by one daughter; Constance E. “Connie” Knapp and husband Charlie of Washingtonville, PA; a grandson, Leon A. Knapp and wife Lorraine G. of Washingtonville, PA  and granddaughter Kara K. Knapp of Riverside, PA and her friend Steven Aurand of Danville, PA.  She is also survived by two step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great grandchildren.  Mrs. Billmeyer was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 5, 2005 at 1:00 PM from the Washingtonville Lutheran Church Washingtonville, PA with her pastor the Reverend Melody Sell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends will be received from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to either Washingtonville Lutheran Church PO Box 181 Washingtonville, PA 17884 or Columbia-Montour Home Hospice 599 East 7th Street Bloomsburg, PA  17815.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA  17821.
