Lorene M. Lunger, 96, of 100 Pearl Street Danville, PA died Wednesday
evening, January 28, 2004 at her residence. She was born February 24, 1907
in Danville, PA the daughter of the late John R. and Anna Lewis Kocher.
She attended Danville Schools. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh United
Church of Christ Danville, PA. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and cooking.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she deeply loved.
Mrs. Lunger was employed in the dietary department of Danville State
Hospital and the cafeteria at Danville High School.
She was married in 1926 to the late Howard L. Lunger who preceded her in
death in 1971. She is survived by a son, Glenn H. Lunger with whom she
resided and a daughter, Darlis L. Pope the wife of John S. Pope Danville,
PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Jeffrey Pope, Ann Danese,
Mark Lunger, Holly Kieffer and Randall Lunger and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters; Helen Kehl Newcomer and Ruth E. Kocher,
both of Danville, PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death
by two brothers; William and Norman Kocher and two sisters; Marie Ralston
and Lillian Kocher.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM from the
Miller-Visneski Funeral Home 10 West
Mahoning Street Danville, PA with her pastor the Reverend Brian E. Cope
officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville, PA.
Friends will be received from noon until the time of service. Memorial
