Sylvia Mae Dressler

March 16, 2021

After patiently waiting 88 years, Sylvia Mae Dressler received her call to meet Jesus face to face at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was born July 28, 1932 in Danville PA, the daughter of the late David Edward and Ruth Beatrice Kline Thomas.

She attended Danville High School.

Sylvia was employed in the Housekeeping Department at Geisinger Medical Center for 20 years, from where she retired.

She was long time member of First Baptist Church Danville PA serving faithfully in the Nursery, AWANA and Vacation Bible School.  She loved her Sunday School Class and was a faithful prayer warrior.

She also enjoyed participating in the Jubilee Kitchen in Danville.  Loving adventure, she loved taking local airplane flights, target shooting with her pistol and deer hunting with her son.  She will be lovingly remembered for baking her famous “Lucky Hunting Cookies” each deer season.

Sylvia enjoyed painting stones with three empty wooden crosses on the front and an empty tomb on the back.  Sylvia had a passion for sharing God’s saving grace offered to all through Jesus’s death and resurrection.

She is survived by one son: Timothy T. Dressler and his wife Jolene of Snydertown PA and one daughter Deborah Y Fleetman and her husband Torrey of Lancaster PA.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Brian Fleetman and his wife Stephanie, Heidi Patterson and her husband Mike, Shawn Fleetman and his wife Michelle; all of Lancaster:  Kendra, Aaron, Bethany and Isaac Dressler of Snydertown and nine great-grandchildren.  Also surviving three nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her only brother, Donald K. Thomas in 2008.

Her family rejoices in her change of address and invite you to attend a Celebration of Sylvia’s life which will be held NEXT Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Danville, PA, 12 Brookside Drive (Off 642 East) with the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating.  Friends will be received from 9:45 – 10:45 AM.  Masking and social distancing are required. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA

Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or WPGM Radio PO Box 236 Danville PA.

Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 W. Mahoning Street, Danville, PA 17821.
