Robert E. Klopp

January 30, 2021

Robert E. Klopp, 81, of Riverside PA passed away January 29, 2021 at Nottingham Village in Northumberland PA.   He was born July 16, 1939 in Williamsport PA, the son of the late John E. and Marion Shire Klopp.

He graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1958 and then served his country in the United States Navy for four years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Barbara Betts Klopp.  They were married July 16, 1960.

Bob attended Danville Assembly of God in Riverside PA.

He was employed by CeCo Steel, in New Columbia PA, retiring in 2001.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  He camped at Nittany Mountain Campground for 30 years and at Hidden Valley Campground at Forest Hill for 11 years.  One of his greatest joys was going out to breakfast with his friends at Pappas’s Restaurant in Danville.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son, Brian K. Klopp and his wife Lori of Turbotville and one daughter: Brenda Klopp Balatincz of Riverside PA.  Also surviving are six grandchildren: Brian Klopp, Jr. Erica Perrige, Andrew Perrige, Julianna Balatincz and Timothy and Drew Miller.   He is also survived by six great-grandchildren:  Leah, Bailey, Catharine, Thomas, Benton and Wyatt; several nieces and nephews.   One sister, Dorothy Godfrey and her husband Donnell, of Florida, also survives.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Danville Assembly of God Church 734 6th Street Riverside PA with his pastor the Reverend William Conrad officiating.  Friends will be received from 1:00 – 1:45 PM.  Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the church or The Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
