SPECIAL WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENT - February 1, 2021:
Because of the inclement weather conditions, The Celebration
of Life for Mollie T. Geise will be moved to Friday, February 5, 2021 2:00
PM at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville PA (off Rt. 642
East) with the Rev. Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Relatives and friends will
be received at the church with social distancing and masks required from
12:30 PM until 1:45 PM.
Mollie T. Geise, 83, of Northumberland PA was welcomed into the arms of her
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with the love of her life on
Monday, January 25, 2021 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village in Lewisburg
She grew up in Northumberland, the daughter of the late Fred and Anna F.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William S. Geise, Sr.
one year ago on January 28, 2020. They were married January 16, 1960.
Mollie graduated as valedictorian from Northumberland High School in 1955,
where she and Bill were voted Most Likely to Succeed. She also graduated
from Bucknell University with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1959. She
trained at Geisinger Medical Center in microbiology. Her employment included
Geisinger Medical Center and Evangelical Community Hospital in the
laboratories as a medical technologist.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Danville PA where she served as
a third grade Sunday school teacher for many years. She also served
faithfully as financial secretary and was a member of the senior choir.
Mollie was a faithful and dedicated farmer’s wife, co-owning the farm where
they raised hogs, sweet corn, and field crops.
Mollie was the president of the Northumberland County Farm Bureau for three
years, secretary for 22 years, and newsletter editor for 26 years. She also
received their 1991 Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award. Mollie
enjoyed being a leader of the Pineknotter’s 4-H Club in Point Township for
12 years. Mollie and Bill were selected as the 2015 recipients for the
statewide honor of the Distinguished Local Affairs Leader Award for the PA
Farm Bureau. Mollie’s life was centered around her faith, family, and farm.
She is survived by her siblings: Don Troxell of Northumberland PA, Mary
Ellen (Peachy) Long and her husband Rodney of Hellertown PA, Martha Jane
Craig and her husband Ray of Phoenix AZ, and sister-in-law Janet Troxell
Limmer; one son, William S. Geise Jr., and his wife Marti of Northumberland
PA, and one daughter, Betsy Buckley and her husband Earl of Campbell NY.
Also surviving are three grandchildren: Melissa Geise, Sarah McDonald and
her husband Tyler of Norristown PA, and Emma Buckley. As well as many nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Fred Troxell Jr.,
sister-in-law Anna Troxell, and grandson, Jonathan Geise.
A Celebration of Mollie’s Life will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at
2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville PA (off Rt.
642 East) with the Rev. Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Relatives and friends
will be received at the church with social distancing and masks required
from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. Immediately following the service, the burial
will be held in Riverview Cemetery in Northumberland PA. The family will
