John H. "Speck" Navrocki

John H. “Speck” Navrocki, 96, of Danville PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the home of his daughter.   He was born March 15, 1924 in Paxinos PA, the son of the late Stanley and Anna Demboskie Navrocki. 

He attended Shamokin High School and served his country in the United States Army. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Donna F. Navrocki on June 21, 1997.  They were married March 1, 1960. 

John was the owner of a mine company for many years as well as the owner and mechanic of a repair shop in Shamokin.  He was employed as a laborer for PennDot for several years, from where he retired in 1985. 

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Danville PA.   

He was an honor guard for the American Legion Post 40 and held memberships in various fire companies and social organizations.  

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, vegetable and flower gardening.  John thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with his friends on Fridays.  He was a great storyteller and he loved feeding the birds and the squirrels.  He was deeply devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. 

He is survived by one daughter, Marie A. Stump and her husband, Harry of Danville PA.  Also surviving is one grandson, Kyle Stump and his wife Katie Messinger of Milton and one granddaughter, Caitlin R. Stump of Danville as well as one great-granddaughter, Elaina.  One sister, Pauline Lenig, and one sister-in-law, Kay Nowaskie both of Shamokin PA also survive as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM  at St. Joseph Catholic Church 68 Center Street Danville PA with the Reverend Timothy Marcoe as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Episcopal Cemetery Danville PA.  Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard. 

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to P.A. PETS 203 E. Fifth Street Bloomsburg PA 17815.
