H. Lois “Loie” Davis, 90, of Danville PA passed
peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2021 at
Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. She was born March 13, 1930 in
Danville PA, the daughter of the late William H. and Helen Goodall Daise.
She graduated from Danville High School in
1947.
She was married for 49 ½ years to the late
Robert J. Davis who preceded her in death on January 30, 2001. They were
married August 10, 1951.
Loie was employed for many years as a secretary
for Dietrich’s Dairy of Danville, from where she retired in the 1980’s.
She was an active and devoted member of First
Baptist Church in Danville PA where she served as deaconess, Trustee, Sunday
School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She also enjoyed singing in the
Senior Choir and serving faithfully in the Church Library. Her life was rich
with her church activities and her many friendships. Loie was a dedicated
homemaker and took great joy in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and friend to many.
She is survived by two sons: Barry L. Davis and
his wife Andi, of Lancaster PA and Dr. Jerry E. Davis and his wife Debra of
Huntington Indiana. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Marta Biddinger
(Grant), Nathan Davis (Erin), Jasmine Sullivan (Brady), Jesse Davis
(Jennifer), and Patrick Davis (Jenna), as well as 21 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters: Shirley
Santucci and her husband Raymond and Barbara Daise. both of Danville.
There will be a
private graveside service at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Danville, PA,
officiated by Rev. Dawes Dunham of the First Baptist Church.
