Donald E. Clark, 88, of Danville PA passed
away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in
Danville PA. He was born December 9, 1932 in Danville PA the son of the
late Elias H. and Viola Vought Clark.
He graduated from Danville High School
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife
of 62 years, June A. Clark on October 20, 2014.
They were married February 23, 1952.
Donald was a farmer in his earlier years. He
was also employed as a long-distance truck driver for Dallas and Mavis for
many years and for Jones Trucking, from where he retired. After retiring,
he was a bus driver for Joe and Jan’s and the Danville Area School
District. A compassionate man, he volunteered with Thrivent for local food
banks and the Bloomsburg Women’s Shelter.
He was a faithful member of St. John’s
“Vought’s” Lutheran Church Danville PA where he served on Church Council
where he served as President and on the Property Committee. He was a member
of the Danville Moose.
Donald was an avid hunter and gardener, loved
reading, especially local history and loved to tinker with anything and
everything. One of his joys in life was traveling with his wife which
included a Caravan RV trip from Canada to Alaska and visiting many National
Parks in the Western USA. Above all, spending time with his family was the
greatest job in his life.
He is survived by two daughters: Susan Teisher
of Watsontown PA and Joyce Piazza and her husband Chris of Effort PA. Also
surviving are three grandchildren: Robert E. Teisher and his wife Kristy,
Sean Teisher and Rebecca Sierawski and her husband Patrick, as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death with the untimely
deaths of two sons: David Clark in 1985 and Dale Clark in 1990. He was also
preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert V. Teisher two brothers; Robert
and Oren Clark and one sister, Vera, in childhood.
A Private Celebration of Donald’s Life will be
held Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42
West Mahoning Street Danville. With respect to Covid-19 restrictions,
friends and family may view his service remotely by Facebook Livestream at
www.facebook.com/visneskifh. Burial will
be private in the church cemetery.
The family will
provide flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. John’s “Vought’s”
Lutheran Church 59 High Road Danville PA 17821.
