Charles Henry Erlston, 82, passed away on
February 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born on May 24, 1938 in
Danville, PA, the son of the late John and MaryEllen Bogart Erlston. He was
a lifelong resident of Danville area.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1957.
He then joined the National Guard and was Honorably Discharged on 31 August
1964.
Charles was a self-employed businessman and the
owner operator of Erlston Supply. He
was previously employed at the Danville Silk Mill and Branch Trucking until
it closed. He continued his employment at Textron until he retired.
Charles was a member of Trinity United
Methodist Church of Danville.
His other memberships included Danville
American Legion, Danville VFW, Danville Moose, Washington, Continental,
Friendship, East End and Southside Fire Companies.
Charles was an avid fisherman who thoroughly
enjoyed his annual trips with his “buddies” to the waters of Black Lake in
upstate New York. He absolutely enjoyed his time with his family and
friends and will be extremely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by one son; Charles F. Erlston
of Danville, PA and two daughters; Barbara A. Zakarian of Newport News, VA
and Charleen R. Herriott of Prince George, VA, seven grandchildren, six
great grandchildren and his ex-wife, the former Kathleen Latchford.
He was preceded in death by five brothers
John "Cork," Lawrence "Tiny,” Frank,
Robert, and Donald Erlston and one sister Betty "Sis" Sabol, and one great
grandchild, Kyla Zimmerman.
A Private Celebration of Charles’ Life will be
held March 5, 2021 at 6 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W Mahoning
St., Danville, PA 17821 with his pastor, the Reverend David Layser, Trinity
United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends will be received
from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on March 5, 2021. With respect to Covid-19
restrictions, friends and family may view his service remotely by Facebook
