Carl F. Koser, 85,
of Danville, PA passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 at his home
surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 29, 1935 in
Danville, PA, the son of the late Phares E. and Maude A. (Hess) Koser.
Carl began his
hardworking life at a young age, starting out in lumber camps before
becoming a truck driver for most of his career. He worked for several
companies before retiring from American Home Foods in 1997. He served as
business agent for the Teamsters Union Local 764 for several years.
He was an active
member of the Strawberry Ridge Trinity U.C.C. and the Danville Masonic Lodge
224.
Carl enjoyed
nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was a
self-made handyman, always eager to share his knowledge and lend a hand. He
was the organizer of countless picnics over the years, always striving to
bring people together. Carl developed many lasting friendships throughout
his years, in part due to his loyalty and trustworthiness. He enjoyed
attending area fairs and tractor pulls and was always on the hunt for a good
diner – he especially enjoyed hanging out with his crew at the “Five-Star”
in Washingtonville. Perhaps his most favorite activity was watching his
grandchildren participate in their school and sporting events.
He will be
remembered for his immense kind-heartedness and generosity, his positive
attitude, and his infectious laugh. Often seen out in his signature cowboy
hat and boots, Carl was a true socialite, always up to try something new and
bring new friends into his circle.
Carl is survived
by his devoted wife of 66 years, Josephine “Jo” (Knight) Koser. They were
married December 25, 1954. In addition to his wife, he is survived by many
decedents who thought the world of him. Son, Douglas Koser and wife, Nancy,
of Berwick; six grandchildren: Heather Sockriter and husband, Mike, of
Emmaus, PA; Adam Koser and wife, Denise, of Pittsford, NY; Bryan Koser and
wife, Christine; Bradley Koser and girlfriend, Amy Brown; Brandon Koser and
wife, Cassandra; Brenda Cool and husband, Chris, all of Danville; sixteen
great-grandchildren: Joshua, Harley, Caden, Wyatt, Luke, Matthew, Axton,
Jaxon, Ava, Myles, Benjamin, Jake, Ally, Senga, Avery, and Jordyn; and six
great-great-grandchildren: Sierra, Blake, Beau, Kinsleigh, Cole, and Ryleigh.
Also surviving is a sister, Helen Spring.
Carl was preceded
in death by a son, Larry W. Koser; great-grandson, Bryan J. Deibert; and
twelve brothers and sisters.
When you’re good,
you’re good - and this man was the absolute best.
