Ann C. Kimber,71, of Danville, PA passed away
on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 25, 1949 in
Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Gerald & Ellen Kingsley Chubbuck.
Gerald and Ellen ran the high school Grocery in Towanda, PA.
Ann graduated from Towanda Area High School in
1967. She graduated from Beacon Junior. College in 1969 with an associate
degree in Executive Secretarial. Ann went on to attend Bloomsburg
University and graduated in 1972 with a bachelorís degree in Business
Education. She then received her masterís degree from Elmira College in
She was married to the Late Dr. William J.
Kimber, the love of her life, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2018.
They were married in 1981. They honeymooned in Philadelphia, a favorite
city, as Bill graduated from University of Pennsylvania there. They also
spent many weeks at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, their absolute favorite
beach. They traveled together for 20 years mostly in the Western US, some of
Switzerland and New England. Her favorite place to travel was to Europe,
mostly to Italy. Her last trip together with Bill was to France, a favorite
country, as the food was outstanding and the countryside beautiful.
She was employed at Hercules, Inc. as an
Executive Secretary in Wilmington, Delaware.
Ann taught high school in Waverly, New York
teaching Business Law, Math and Typing. After her time in Waverly, she moved
back to Bloomsburg PA and began working at Geisinger Medical Center as a
Supervisor and Administrative Assistant from 1972-2001.
Ann loved horseback riding, hiking and
skiing. One of her greatest joys in life was playing with her nieces and
nephews whenever she got the chance. She loved to visit her sister Patti,
the mother and grandmother of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and
great-nephews, a great family whom she loved dearly.
She was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church
in Danville PA.
She is survived by one sister; Patricia
Henneman and her husband Steven of Wellsboro, PA as well as two nieces;
Caley Jones and her husband Casey and Caitrin Stroup and her husband Matthew
and one nephew Colin McBride and his wife Alyssa.. Also surviving are four
great nieces and four great nephews.
A Celebration of Annís life will be held at a
later date in the summer to be announced.
