Francis Edward Resuta

Francis Edward Resuta, 82, of Mount Pocono PA passed away May 17, 2020 at St. Marys Villa at Elmhurst PA.   He was born June 6, 1937 in Hazle Township,PA  the son of the late Peter and Anna Yanachko Resuta.

He was married for 56 years to his devoted wife Florence Dorothy Dalesandro Resuta of Mt. Pocono PA, who survives. They were married July 13, 1963.

Francis served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 1958 where he was stationed at Iraklion Air Force Base in Crete and he traveled to Israel, Egypt, England, and Greece.

Francis graduated from West Hazelton High School in 1954.  He received his Associates Degree in Engineering from Penn State University. 

He was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot Logistics Center for the United States Department of Defense from where he retired in 1992

Francis was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary of the Mount which merged with Most Holy Trinity in Cresco PA.

His enjoyments included gardening and tinkering with electronics.  He was an avid Phillies Fan.  Francis was pleasant with everyone he met.  He was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a great listener and loved to tell stories which everyone thoroughly enjoyed

He is survived by two sons; Steven C. Resuta and his wife Michele of Elysburg PA and David P. Resuta and his wife Lorri of Chalfont PA.  Also surviving eleven grandchildren: Steven, Ashley, Nicholas, Rachael, Jessica, Maria, Sabrina, Christopher, Gianna, Francesca and Anthony, all of whom he adored.

He is also survived by one brother, Eugene of Freeland PA.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Elysburg PA with Father Joseph T. Scanlin as celebrant.   Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
