Shirley I. Lunger, 92, of Elysburg PA and
formerly of Catawissa, passed away peacefully April 30, 2020 at Bloomsburg
Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomsburg PA. Shirley was born December
12, 1927 in Catawissa PA the daughter of the late George V. and Mahala
Shirley was married for 48 years to the late
Leroy W. “Whitey” Lunger who preceded her in death September 15, 1995
Shirley was employed as a seamstress by Milco
Industries and as a clerk at Ames Department Store, both in Bloomsburg PA.
She thoroughly enjoyed shopping and loved
taking trips and vacations with her family. Her dedication and devotion to
her family along with her “jolly” personality will be deeply missed by all
who knew her and by her family, whom she adored.
Shirley is survived by one son, Larry E. Lunger
and his wife Ginny of Middletown PA and one daughter, Betty Jo Derk and her
husband Clayton of Elysburg PA with whom she resided. Also surviving are 12
grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. She
is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Leroy R.
Lunger and Harry E. Lunger as well four brothers; James, George, Eugene and
Paul Neeb and three sisters; Martha Snyder, Geraldine Tedesco and Mamie
Services and burial will be private at the
convenience of the family.

Mahoning Street Danville PA.
