M. Shaffer, 82, of Danville, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ on Friday, May 15, 2020 at her residence. She was born July 4,
1937 in Danville, PA the daughter of the late Franklin Lewis Long and Ethel
was married for 54 years to Robert F. Shaffer who preceded her in death on
June 30, 2016.
graduated from Berwick High School in Berwick, PA.
and her husband were owners of Shafferís Stop Inn, Danville for 28 years.
She had also been a registered nurse at Geisinger and a teacherís aide at
Fred W. Diehl School.
Murielís greatest joy was spending time with her family and her cats, Boots
and Stripes. She will be missed by all who loved her.
hobbies included jigsaw puzzles and bird watching. She was a member of the
Danville bowling and shuffleboard leagues. Muriel was an active member of
First Baptist Church, Danville PA.
survived by two sons; Clayton A. Shaffer and his wife Julie of Denver, CO
and Duane L. Shaffer and his wife Cathy Miller of Danville, PA and one
daughter; Shari E. Johnson and her husband James of Bloomsburg, PA. She is
also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also
surviving are a sister, Lenore Fritz and her husband Jay of Bloomsburg, PA
and a brother, Harry Long and his wife Ginny of Scottsdale, AZ.
Celebration of Murielís life will be held at a later date. Burial will be
held at Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA.
