Joyce E. Mettler

Joyce E. Mettler, 88, of Danville PA passed away peacefully at her home on Friday morning, June 26, 2020.  She was born September 14, 1931 in Beaver Springs PA the daughter of the late James Roy and Elsie Edna DeLong Renninger.

She graduated from Northumberland High School as part of the Class of 1949.

She was married for 64 years to her devoted husband, Robert E. Mettler, who preceded her in death September 7, 2014.  They were married March 31, 1950.

Joyce was employed by Danville State Hospital as a psychiatric aide, from where she retired.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sunbury PA.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Joyce committed her life to helping others.  Joyce enjoyed staying active with tennis, hiking and bowling.  Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those around her.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Edna May of Danville PA and her only granddaughter, Jamie Daniels and her husband Jeffrey of Colorado and her two great grandchildren, Tristan and Olivia, of Colorado; as well as her sister, Joan Merrifield and her husband Terry of Lewisburg PA and her brother Grant Renninger and his wife Janne, of Sunbury PA

Relatives and friends may view a Celebration of her life remotely by Facebook Livestream at www.facebook.com/visneskifh on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating.  Burial will be held at 12:30 PM at Klinesgrove Cemetery 1058 Church Street Sunbury PA.

The family will provide flowers.   Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association online at www.alz.org.
