Jeffrey R. Binns

Jeffrey R. Binns , 59, of Danville PA  passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his residence.  He was born November 2, 1960 in Atlanta Georgia, the son of the late Claude J. and Betty L. Loftis Binns.  

He graduated from West Montgomery High School in Mt. Gilead, NC in 1978.   

Jeffrey served his country in the United States Navy.  He was employed as a Corrections Officer in both North and South Carolina. 

His memberships included The Danville American Legion Post 40 in Danville PA.  He enjoyed serving as an active member of the Honor Guard.  .Jeffrey also joined the Masonic lodge in North Carolina in the late 1980ís.  

He enjoyed football, notably as a kicker and defensive back, during high school.  He also enjoyed baseball, softball, basketball and golf.  Jeffrey pulled for the North Carolina State Wolfpack and has always been an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  

He is survived by two brothers; Ronnie Binns and his wife Pat of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and Randy Binns of Ramseur, North Carolina.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews; Gary and (Emily) Peeples, Damian Peeples, Derek Binns, Damon Binns, Delaina Binns, Danny Mazzell, Chance Mazzell, Guy Mazzell, Taylor Binns , Audreyna Binns,  Bryce Binns and Colton Binns.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Locally, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Danville American Legion 175 Northumberland Street Danville PA.  Military rites will be accorded, and a luncheon will follow.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Danville American Legion Post 40 175 Northumberland Street Danville PA 17821.
