George O. Conrad

George O. Conrad, 88, of Milton PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully on May 12, 2020.    He was born June 19, 1931 in Sunbury PA, the son of the late Wilbert Jennings and Susanna Elizabeth Lenker Conrad.

He married his beautiful bride, Lena May Bowersox on Christmas Day, December 25, 1952.  She was his devoted wife for 67 years.

George was employed as a heavy equipment operator for most of his life.  He was later employed as a farm mechanic for over 15 years at Furman’s Foods, from where he retired.

He was a member of Crossroads Nazarene Church in Montandon.  George was also a member of the Operating Engineers of Local 542.

He will be remembered by his wife as a very loving husband.  George was a good provider and hardworking man who enjoyed woodworking and vegetable gardening as his hobbies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Wilbert George “Jake” Conrad and his wife Sylvia of Montandon PA and Ronald Lee Conrad of Milton PA.  Also surviving are five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers; Stan Conrad of Sunbury PA and Jerry Conrad of York PA and four sisters; Doris Conrad, Shirley Ward, Helen Reitz; all of Sunbury PA and June Benner of Northumberland PA.  He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Chris Conrad; five brothers; Steve, Bud, Ralph, David and Lee Conrad and two sisters; Elsie Cross and Viola Mangle.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Nazarene Church 71 Nazarene Lane Milton PA  17847.
