Faye M. Evans

September 11, 2020

Faye M. Evans, 84, of Danville PA and formerly of Riverside PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA following a lengthy illness.     She was born June 18, 1936 in Robesonia PA the daughter of the late Allen C. and Kathleen Horn Shepperson.  

She was preceded in death on March 22, 1993 by her husband Donald E. Evans. 

Faye graduated from Danville High School in 1955 where she was a member of the Future Homemakers of America.  She was also a graduate of Lifetime Career School. 

She was employed by Rea and Derrick and McWilliams Pharmacy in Danville PA and retired from C.M.S.U. on June 14, 2000 due to ill health. 

Faye was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Riverside PA.  Her other memberships included Future Homemakers of America and the Riverside Senior Center.  

She was an avid baker, especially enjoying baking and decorating cakes.  Where she worked, she was well known for her “Giant Cookies”.  She loved cooking, collecting recipes and postcards, and reading.  Faye also was a doll collector. 

She is survived by three brothers; Robert Shepperson and his wife Donna of Louisville KY; Fred Shepperson of Danville PA; Joe Shepperson and his wife Kathryn of Catawissa; two sisters; Naomi Wynn of Independence MO and Kathy Shepperson of Catawissa.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by four brothers; Lee, Floyd, Walter and Parvin Shepperson and one sister Ruth Edith Shepperson. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service to be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Episcopal Cemetery in Danville PA with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn, Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. 

At Faye’s request, there will be no flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 241 East Market Street Danville PA  17821.
