Edyth M. Davis, 98, of Danville, PA, passed
away peacefully on December 15, 2020 at Nottingham Village in Northumberland
PA. She was born December 6, 1922 in Milton PA the daughter of the late
Jesse and Hattie Spickard Snyder.
She was married for 66 years to Robert J. Davis
who preceded her in death on May 22, 2014. They were married June 28, 1947.
She graduated as valedictorian from West
Chillisquaque
Township
High School in Montandon in 1940.
In her earlier years, she worked at Fox Knapp
Manufacturing in Milton and Thompson (the former TRW) in Danville PA.
Edyth was a dedicated homemaker for most of her
life. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning. She loved playing
pinochle with her husband and her friends, cooking, baking, sewing and
knitting. One of Edyth’s greatest joys in life was traveling and camping
with her husband and family and spending their winters together in Florida.
Many loving memories will be cherished by her family, all of whom she
adored.
She was a member of Mahoning Presbyterian
Church Danville PA and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters: Virginia
Tanner of Harrisonburg VA and Linda Morrisey and her husband Bill of
Riverside PA. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Kathy
Tanner and her husband Joe Timidaiski; Kelly Scott and her husband Jeffrey;
Kristine Siguenza, Karen Tanner, Jennifer Weaver and her husband Bob and
Chris Morrisey and four great-grandchildren; Layne Timidaiski, Jordan
Weaver, Liam Weaver and Kiersten Morrisey. Also surviving are two sisters:
Caroline Greenly of Millville PA and Ruth Greenly and her husband Gerald of
Milton PA and one brother Franklin E. Snyder of Danville PA, as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law,
Clyde Tanner; two brothers: William and Donald Snyder and two sisters:
Judith Snyder and Florence Stahlnecker.
A private graveside service will be held at the
convenience of the family.
