Edward E. Heimbach

November 28, 2020

Edward E.  Heimbach, 81, of Danville PA, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville PA.   He was born November 3, 1939 in Danville PA, the son of the late Rio Vern and Augusta Purpur Heimbach.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Patricia Rudy Heimbach. They were marred November 22, 1959.

Ed served his country in the United States Navy for four years.

He was employed as a Dietary Supervisor for Danville State Hospital for 25 years, from where he retired in 1999.  After retirement he served as a Guard for the Montour County Jail.  Ed also thoroughly enjoyed being a bartender at Danville Elks, Danville VFW, East End Fire Company and Friendship Fire Company.

His memberships included the Danville Moose, the Friendship Fire Company and the East End Fire Company, where he was a life member.


Ed was deeply devoted to his family, all of whom he adored.  He especially enjoyed his vacations at the beach with them for over 25 years.  Family Gatherings and Holidays were at the core of his life celebrations.  He will be remembered for his serene, patient and respectful demeanor towards others throughout his life and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons; Michael E. Heimbach and his wife Polly of Riverside PA and Richard W. Heimbach of Danville PA and two daughters; Georgene Raup and her husband Perry of Danville PA and Lorrie A. Crabb and her companion Bob Page of Mifflinburg PA.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Heimbach and three sisters:  Carrie Price, June Burkland and Norene Stillman.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Friendship Fire Company Ladder Truck Fund 219 Ferry Street Danville PA  17821.
