Doris I. Remley, 94, of Danville, PA passed
away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Emmanuel Nursing Center in
Danville. She had previously resided on Rushtown Road for many years. Doris
was born on March 26, 1926, in Hazelton PA, the daughter of the late Herbert
E. and Irene Klingerman Rudolph.
Doris graduated from Hazelton High School and
from the Geisinger School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse at
Geisinger Medical Center for 35 years, from where she retired. Doris was
actively involved with the Geisinger School of Nursing Alumni for many
years. She enjoyed selling Avon products for 25 years.
Doris was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran
Church in Danville PA where she served in many roles including the Choir and
Women’s Group. She was a longtime member of The Loyal Order of the Eastern
Star in Danville PA and was a committed volunteer with the American Red
Cross for many years.
She was an avid knitter and enjoyed many types
of crafting. Doris enjoyed traveling especially south to Florida and to
South Carolina. Her greatest joy in life was her family and spending as
much time with them as possible.
She is survived by
one son, Richard N. Remley and his wife Nancy and one daughter, Cherie A.
Glenn. She is also survived by her four grandsons; 4 great-granddaughters,
two great-grandsons and one great-great grandson, all of whom she adored.
Also surviving are two nieces: Mae Dietrich and Sherry Cragle.
Preceded in death
by her dear grandson, Colin A. Glenn November 27, 2019 and Pearl Ashton who
was like a sister to her.
A Celebration of Doris’s life will be held on Monday, August 10th at 11:00
AM with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Relatives and friends may

private burial will be held in Elan Memorial Park in
Bloomsburg PA.
