William R. Rogers III, 71, of Danville, PA
passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at his residence. He was
born June 7, 1948 in Danville PA the son of the late William R., Jr. and
Frances Ann Walker Rogers Blain.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1966.
Bill served his country in the United States
Navy from 1966-1970.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years,
Susan Krum Rogers. They were married on February 14, 1972.
He was employed for several years for Factory
Mutual Engineering as a boiler inspector from where he retired in 2015.
Bill was an active member of Danville VFW Post
298 where he served as Quartermaster. His other memberships included the
American Legion Post 40 where he served on the Home Association, Danville
Moose Lodge #1133 and the East End, Washies, and Continental Fire Companies.
Bill was an avid fisherman and especially
enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. He will be greatly missed by his friends
and his wife, being remembered as a caring and loving husband and father.
In addition to his wife; he is survived by two
half-brothers; Joseph Rogers of Douglasville PA and David Rogers of
Collegeville PA and his sister-in-law Joan Smedley of Danville PA. Also
surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Timothy
Jay Rogers on May 21, 2016 and by one brother, James Richard Rogers.
