W. Harry Kashner

December 12, 2019

W. Harry Kashner, 73, of Danville, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 11, 2019 at Maria Hall Hospice in Danville PA.    He was born September 12, 1946 in Danville PA the son of the late William Joseph and Betty Fry Kashner.

He graduated from Danville High School in 1965.

Harry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He had a passion for driving truck which was his occupation for most of his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jacquelyn Kashner.  They were married March 9, 1968.

Harry was a member of The Teamster’s Union, Danville Elks, Danville Moose, and the East End, Continental and Washies fire companies.

Having a love of nature, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to garden.  Harry lived his life with much zeal.  A tenderhearted, kind soul, Harry was always ready to help someone in need and will be missed by all who knew him.  He loved his family wholeheartedly, being a devoted and caring husband, father and “Pappy”.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Wendy Kay Jackson and her husband Jeff of Tallulah Falls, Georgia and three grandchildren; Will and Maggie Jackson and Sydney Kashner.  Also surviving is one brother, Wayne Kashner and one sister, Sue Fetter; both of Danville PA as well as nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by the untimely death of his son, William Harry Kashner, II on June 5, 2016.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with Pastor Shawn McNett officiating.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.   Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN  38105-9959
