Spencer H. Bingman,
84, of Lewisburg PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday,
April 19, 2019 at Evangelical Hospital in Lewisburg PA. He was born June 28,
1934 in Troxelville PA, the son of the late Spencer and Elsie Markley
He graduated from
Beaver Vocational High School in 1952 and later from Penn State University
He served his
country in the United States Army for two years.
Spence was married
for 61 years to the love of his life, H. JoAnn Treaster Bingman, who
survives. They were married April 12, 1958.
employed for 40 years at Pennsylvania House in Lewisburg, retiring in 1996
as Vice President of Manufacturing.
He attended Christ
Wesleyan Church in Milton PA for several years. His other memberships
included The Nittany Lions Club and Penn State Alumni Association
Spence was an avid
Penn State fan, often following the football team to Bowl games. He also
enjoyed hunting and golfing. He was well known as a Master Griller and Cook
for his family whom he adored. He will be greatly missed and remembered by
his family as a devoted husband, father and Pop-pop which will be his
In addition to his
wife he is survived by one daughter, Kathy Rowe of West Milton PA. Also
surviving is his son-in-law Brian Rehm of Lewisburg; his grandchildren;
Stefanie and Ryan Moore of Turbotville PA; Travis and Kristin Rehm of Muncy
PA, Kendra and Mike Wright of Milton PA and Kyle Rehm of Lewisburg. Also
surviving are three great-grandchildren; Grant and Dylan Moore, Jordan
Wright and one great-grandson to arrive in June. He was preceded in death
by his daughter; Lynn Rehm on September 13, 2017; one sister, June Etzler
and one brother, Richard Bingman.
and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Spencerís life to be held
on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Davis Chapel at Christ
Wesleyan Church 363 Stamm Road Milton PA with the Reverend Arlie E. Davis
officiating. Burial will be private in the Lewisburg Cemetery in Lewisburg
PA. Friends will be received Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in
the Davis Chapel at the church. The family will provide flowers. Memorial
contributions may be made to Meadowbrook Christian School Scholarship Fund
