Josephine Doris Hoffman, 89, of Lewisburg, PA
went home to be with her Lord on September 17, 2019. She was born on July
9, 1930 in Loganton PA the daughter of the late Jerry and Idella Emig Moyer.
She graduated from Sugar Valley Joint High
School on May 21, 1948.
She was married to Joseph H. Hoffman for 59
years who preceded her in death on October 24, 2009. In earlier years, she
and her husband traveled together as evangelists with their singing and joy
that came with reaching people for the Lord.
Josephine was a devoted homemaker and dedicated
her life to raising her children. Her family will remember the joy she had
in reading, cooking, sewing, refinishing furniture and baking her delicious
pecan pies. Music was a passion in her life which included playing the
piano and the accordion. She loved to play the clarinet and would tour with
the Central PA Gospel Band. Having a love of nature, she enjoyed times with
her family at their cabin where many memories were made and especially
enjoyed riding the country roads with her husband. She is warmly remembered
for her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the desire to live out her
faith. She will be greatly missed by her family whom she adored.
She was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church
She is survived by one daughter Sharon Davis
and her husband, Reverend Arlie Davis of Milton, PA and two sons, Timothy
Hoffman and his wife Lynn of Lewisburg, PA and Wayne Hoffman of Lewisburg,
PA. Josephine is also survived by eight grandchildren: Aidan Davis and
Adrienne-Leigh Davis Gordon and her husband Matthew, Angela Sheets and her
husband Rick, Nicholas Hoffman and his partner Neina, Russell Davis III and
his wife Tammy; Judie Barlage and her husband Bill, Amie Bang and Michael
Davis and his wife Ashley.. In addition, she is survived by numerous
great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Josephine was preceded in death by one brother,
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a
Celebration of Josephine’s Life on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM
at Christ Wesleyan Church in the Davis Chapel 363 Stamm Road Milton PA with
her son-in-law Reverend Arlie Davis officiating. Friends will be received
from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM
family will provide flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to Christ
