Geraldine A. Andreas

August 15, 2019

Geraldine A. Andreas, 85, of Danville PA passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Grandview Health Homes Danville PA.  She was born March 7, 1934 in Bloomsburg PA the daughter of the late Joseph Guy Summers and Leona May Wooley.

She graduated from Bloomsburg High School.

She was married for 35 years to Paul L. Andreas who preceded her in death on March 31, 2015.  They were married June 19, 1980.

Gerry was employed for several years at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville as a Unit Desk Clerk, in the Medical Library, and at the House of Care, from where she retired.

She was a member of The Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the Danville Community Singers.

Gerry enjoyed quilting and frequent trips to New York City with her family. She loved miniatures and dollhouses.  She was an avid Phillies Fan and frequently visited Hawk Mountain in Reading with her family creating wonderful memories.  Gerry was well known to be a resilient and fearless woman.  She will be deeply missed by her family, all of whom she adored.

She is survived by three daughters; Lorraine G. Knapp and her husband Leon of Washingtonville PA; Kathy Sue Riegel and Valerie D. Riegel; both of Danville PA. and three sons; Franklin D. Riegel, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Riverside; David B. Riegel and his wife Brenda of Catawissa and Paul J. Andreas and his wife Shannon of Lancaster PA.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild arriving in the Fall.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Gerry’s Life on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Melody Sell, Washingtonville Lutheran Church officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.   Burial will be private.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial Contributions may be made to The Daniel V. Vrabec House of Care 100 North Academy Avenue Danville PA  17822
