Florence T. Hendershot

Florence T. Hendershot, 86, of Danville, PA passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville PA.  She was born January 1, 1933 in Shamokin PA the daughter of the late Albert and Theresa Hladek Sabo.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Henry C. “Cam” Hendershot on March 20, 2009.  They were married July 2, 1957.

Florence was a dedicated homemaker and worked alongside her husband in their business Hendershot Supply Company for many years before their retirement in 1989.

She was a lifetime member of St. James United Church of Christ (Ridgeville).

Florence will be remembered for her love of putting puzzles together, her cooking, Sudoku and word games.  Most of all, she cherished her family and spending time with them. 

She is survived by her son, Henry C. Hendershot, II of Danville PA and his significant other, Jonna Hagemeyer of Catawissa PA.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence is survived by three brothers; Tom Sabo of Numidia, Frank Sabo and his wife Kathy of Georgetown, Texas and Joseph Sabo and his wife Brenda of Bloomsburg and two sisters; Dawn Roadarmel of Bloomsburg and Theresa Sabo of Deerfield Beach  Florida.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; Albert, Bill, and Eddie Sabo and one sister, Joanie Kline. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1:30 PM at St. James United Church of Christ (Ridgeville) 1381 Bloom Road Danville PA with the Reverend Richard Shearer officiating. Friends will be received Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA and from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM Friday at the church.  Burial will be held in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Grovania PA.

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the church.
