Daniel Clinton Fegley

Daniel Clinton Fegley, 79, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. He was born at his home in Catawissa PA, the son of the late Lawrence and Marie Harder Fegley.  

Dan graduated from Catawissa High School and later from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelorís Degree in Education. 

He was married for 49 years to Jane Ann ďTinkĒ Ritmiller Fegley.  They were married August 24, 1968. No automatic alt text available. 

Dan was employed by the Danville Area School District for 35 years, retiring in 1995.  While there, he was a History Teacher and a Driverís Education Instructor.  He loved to coach and was the First Varsity Soccer Coach at the school.  He took the Girlís Basketball Team to District Championships in 1990, 1991 and 1992.   

He was a member of the Danville Elks for 51 years.  His other memberships included the Catawissa Military Band, Frosty Valley County Club, the American Legion and the Bent Barrel Hunting Club.  He was also a member of all the local fire companies. 

Dan was an avid golfer.  He loved to referee for basketball and soccer games.  He ran the Kipps Run Pool and Sunnybrook Pool for many years and loved to be with his friends and family. 

He is survived by one son; Marcellus Fegley of Alaska and two daughters, Laura Ann Baker and her husband Tab of Philadelphia, PA and Danielle Fegley and her partner Andrew of Bend, Oregon. Dan is survived by four grandchildren, Emma and Becca Baker and Mavis and Rory Clinton Holst. He is also survived by one brother; Donald Fegley of Bloomsburg, PA.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Danís life to be held

Thursday, March 8th at 5:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Jo Green, Geisinger Chaplain officiating.  Friends will be received from 3:30 PM until the time of the service.  There will be a ceremony conducted by the Danville Elks at 4:45 PM.

 The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Area School District Scholarship Fund ATTN:  Stephenie Butler 733 Ironmen Lane Danville PA  17821.
