Thelma R. Fiedler Jones, 79, of Danville, PA
went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday November 29, 2018 at
Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born January 13, 1939 in
Trenton New Jersey, the daughter of the late William Charles and Ruth Louise
Thelma graduated from Abington High School in
Abington PA. Later she received a Biblical Degree from Philadelphia
Institute of the Bible.
She was married to her husband of 46 years,
Kenneth N. Jones, who preceded her in death March 31, 2010. They were
married July 6, 1963.
Thelma treasured working side by side with her
husband Ken at the farm and especially enjoyed working with the pigs and
being a homemaker. Her servant nature and warm hospitality were so evident
welcoming many into her home and providing hearty meals at the farm. Her
faith and her family were the foundation of her life. She was a role model,
mentor and friend who will be remembered for her strong endurance and desire
to live out her faith.
Thelma was a member of First Baptist Church of
Danville PA where she worked in earlier years in the Brookside Preschool,
served joyfully in Children’s Church and enjoyed serving meals on Wednesday
She is survived by three sons; Kenneth H. Jones
and his wife Laurie of Danville PA; Daniel W. Jones and his wife Michelle of
Millville PA and Howard P. Jones II and his wife Adria of Danville PA and
two daughters; Bonnie L.York and her husband Andrew of Shamokin PA and
Deborah R. Jones of Danville PA. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren;
Brittney, Anthony, Aaron, Nathaniel, Elijah, Samuel, Caleb, Crystal, Collin,
Lia, Norah, Elsa and Howard. Also surviving are three brothers; David,
Charles, and Donald Fiedler and one sister, Ruth Sigafoos as well as several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two
granddaughters; Burgundy and Lauren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a
Celebration of Thelma’s Life on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at
First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville, PA, (Off 642 East) with
the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating assisted by Reverend Dr. Harry H.
Wonderland. Friends will be received from 10:00 – 10:45 AM Burial will be
private in the Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville PA.
