Mary Marlene Diehl

Mary Marlene Diehl, 85, of Danville, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her home.  She was born March 5, 1932 in Danville PA, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary Hartline Yeigh. 

She graduated from Danville Area High School in 1950. 

Mary was a member of the All State Chorus and Daughters of the American Revolution. 

She was employed as a seamstress at Milco Industries from where she retired. In her earlier years she worked in the Hospitality Department at Geisinger Medical Center. 

One of Maryís greatest passions in life was singing in church choirs and at weddings, especially The Lordís Prayer, as well as listening to opera. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching crime television with her family.  Mary adored her dogs and spending quality time with her family. 

She is survived by four daughters; Jacqueline Stephens and her husband George of Etters PA; Linda Yerger of Muncy Valley PA; Kathy Shymansky of Sunbury PA and Deb Bortel of Danville PA and one son, William B. Diehl and his wife Kim of Bloomsburg PA.  Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.   Also surviving are her brothers; Daniel Yeigh of Victorville CA and Benjamin Yeigh of Freeburg PA and one sister Naomi Clemens of Danville PA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law David Shymansky and Dean Yerger and one great-granddaughter Adelyn Ivy Socash.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Washingtonville Lutheran Church 10 Strawberry Ridge Road Washingtonville PA with the Reverend Melody Sell officiating assisted by Hospice Chaplain Mike Delp.   Burial will follow in Washingtonville Lutheran Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimerís Association 57 N. Franklin Street Wilkes-Barre PA  18701-1309 or The American Lung Association 3001 Gettysburg Road Camp Hill PA  17011.
