Helen Henrie

February 15, 2018

Helen Henrie, 93, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA. She was born February 16, 1924 in Altoona PA the daughter of the late Earl and Lena Swanger Conner 

She was married to the late Derl Henrie who preceded her in death May 22, 2016.   They were married February 27, 1943 

Helen was employed at Milco Industries for 28 years, retiring in 1986. 

She was a member of the Strawberry Ridge and Dutch Hill Churches and enjoyed attending Hendrickson United Methodist Church in recent years. 

One of Helenís greatest joys in life was car rides with the destination of ice cream at the end of the journey.  She also loved to crochet and to knit.  Helen was well known for her sticky buns, lemon meringue and cherry pies and sliced peaches.  Her passion in life was her family whom she adored. 

She is survived by two sons; Darwood D. Henrie and his wife Darla of Millville PA and Arlie L. Henrie and his wife Annemarie of Danville PA and two daughters; Donna E. Nichols and her husband John of Bloomsburg PA and Kathie J. Shultz and her husband Richard of Danville PA.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother Kermit Conner and one sister, Ruth Hottenstein. 

 Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Helenís life to be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hendrickson United Methodist Church 350 Cameltown Hill Road Danville PA with her grandson, Pastor Dwayne Nichols officiating.   Burial will be held in Old Ebenezer Cemetery in Orangeville PA.  Friends will be received from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the church. 

The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Company 19 Strawberry Ridge Road Danville PA  17821.
