M. Steiner, 78, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her
family on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Emmanuel Center for Nursing and
Rehabilitation Danville PA. She was born at home on December 17, 1939 in
Liberty Township PA the daughter of the late Lester and Mary K. Hagenbuch
graduated from Danville High School in 1957.
was married for 60 years to the love of her life, Stephen G. Steiner, Jr.
who survives. They were married June 23, 1957.
was employed for 35 years in the Dietary Department at Geisinger Medical
Center Danville, from where she retired as Supervisor in 1996.
was an active member of Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church Danville PA where
in earlier years she served as Sunday School Teacher and playing the piano.
will be warmly remembered by her family for being a wonderful cook and an
accomplished seamstress for them all. She was a selfless person always
ready to help anyone she could. She also enjoyed daily walks, puzzles,
visiting her neighbors, being outdoors with lawn and snow work, gardening
and watching hummingbirds. She treasured her time with her husband, her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters; June Steiner
and her wife, Denise Caldwell of Catawissa PA; Joan Shultz of Danville PA
and Jann Swartz and her husband Michael of Danville PA. Also surviving are
her grandchildren; Kara and Ori Shultz, Joshua Swartz and his wife, Mallory,
Justin Swartz and his fiancé Stasi and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and
Scarlette. Also surviving is one brother Dean Beaver and his wife Shirley
of Turbotville PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her twin brothers, Donald and Dale Beaver.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Edna’s Life to
be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42
West Mahoning Street Danville PA with her pastor, the Reverend Gretchen
Johanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Washingtonville Lutheran
Cemetery Washingtonville PA. Friends will be received on Thursday evening,
May 3, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until the time of
the service on Friday.
