Adelaide Virginia "Ginny" Sabo

January 4, 2018

Adelaide Virginia "Ginny" Sabo, age 89 of Orangeville, PA, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Emmanuel Center for Nursing in Danville, PA, where she was a resident for the past three years.

Ginny was born May 25, 1928 in Bloomsburg to the late Adam E. and Agatha (Doster) Craig. She attended Benton High School, after which she started her first job at Bloomsburg Mills Inc. Following her occupation at the Mill, Ginny briefly worked as a cook at the Columbia County Prison. In her mid to late adulthood, Ginny's professional life centered around tending to the needs of others, providing at-home nursing care to the elderly as well as caring for children with disabilities. Regardless of her occupation, Ginny's faith was always a guiding force in her life. She was an active member of Greenwood Christian Church, where she regularly attended Bible study, and formed many lasting friendships.

Whether she was reading, gardening, animal watching, or sitting on the swing under her apple tree, Ginny delighted in her quiet and simple life in the country. Yet among the many activities and occupations she enjoyed, Ginny's roles as a mother and grandmother were what she treasured most, and the time she spent with her children and grandchildren will be forever cherished. Her loving soul, witty banter, lively spirit and selfless devotion will never be forgotten. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Sabo of Shamokin; three grandchildren: Eric Liken of Danville, Robert Booth Jr. and his wife Olivia of Houston, TX; and Erin Booth of Baltimore, MD; two brothers: Robert Craig and his wife Janine of Clearlake, California and Donald Craig and his wife Pam of Catawissa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Booth; her son Albert Sabo Ill; and her brothers Albert J., Raymond R., Charles R., and John W. "Bud" Craig.

A memorial service will be held in the spring, Ginny's favorite season, for family and friends to gather and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ginny's memory to the Greenwood Christian Church, care of Eleanor Drabot at 663 Rohrsburg Rd., Orangeville, PA 17859. We will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
