Steven S. Snyder

June 30, 2017

Steven S. Snyder, 60, of Sunbury, PA passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1957 in Tyrone PA the son of the late Jack S. and Donna J. McCahan Snyder.

He was married for 11 years to Lori Jo English Snyder.  They were married on August 28, 2006.

Steven graduated from Warren High School in Warren PA in 1975.  He later graduated with a Nursing Degree from Jamestown Community College. 

He was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years, most recently at the Danville State Hospital in Danville PA. He retired from this position in April of this year. 

He was an avid fisherman. Steven loved animals and was especially fond of his German Shepherd, Thunder. Steve spent considerable time at the river with his family and his dogs, who loved the river as much as he.  Steve loved camping and spent time in various campgrounds, both in and out of Pennsylvania. 

Steven was an active member of the Sunbury Bowling League. 

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons; Jeromy Snyder and his companion, Tiffany Hoffmaster of Mifflinburg PA; Joshua Snyder and his wife Julianne of Middletown DE and Jon Snyder of York PA and four daughters; Rachel Rossiter and her husband Daniel of Sayre PA; Rebecca Yutzy and her husband James of Carlisle PA; Ciara Chappell and her fiancé Raith Carapezza of Sunbury PA and Lorissa Snyder, at home.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; Shawn, Corbin, Lillian, Alex, Malachi, Paxton, Emery, Ari, Jocelynn and Averie.  He is also survived by one brother, John Snyder and his wife Kim of Sugar Grove PA.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. 

A Celebration of Steven’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11:00AM  at the First Baptist Church 20 Brookside Drive (Off 642 East) Danville PA. . Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. 

The family will provide flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Danville SPCA 2801 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821
