Marcella Ann Fallon

Marcella Ann Fallon, 93, of Danville PA passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Geisinger Hospice and Home Health at Maria Hall in Danville PA.    She was born July 13, 1924 at home in Locust Gap PA the daughter of the late Peter and Anne Duppy McAndrew. 

She graduated from Mount Carmel Township High School in 1942.  She also graduated as a Registered Nurse from Geisinger School of Nursing in 1945, received her Bachelorís Degree in Education from Bloomsburg University and her Masterís Degree in Education from Penn State University. 

Marcella was married for 47 years to Robert John Fallon who preceded her in death on December 22, 1995.  They were married June 26, 1948. 

She was employed in her early years as the Head Nurse in the Geisinger Nursery for 20 years.  After continuing her education, she was then employed as a Nursing Instructor in the Practical Nursing School of the Danville School District, from where she retired. 

She was a faithful and committed member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Danville PA 

Marcella was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, all of whom she adored.  She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano, traveling, sewing and playing pinochle with her friends.  Marcella loved to bake and cook incomparably delicious food and pastries for her family.  She was also very accomplished in making beautiful home improvements for her home and for her family.  Marcella was an avid Penn State fan and an avid Bon-Ton shopper.  Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest passion and joy in life. 

She is survived by one son, Robert Joseph Fallon of Danville PA and five daughters; Nancy Wintersteen and her companion Grant McNally of Acton MA; Jeanie Fallon of Clarks Green PA; Mary Fallon Shultz and her husband Jeffrey of Danville PA, Frances Mordan of Danville PA and Katie Gatto of Clarks Summit PA.  Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters and her son-in-law, Kimber Mordan in 2017. 

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.   Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery Danville PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Home Health and Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA  17815 or The Nazareth Memory Center at Maria Joseph Manor 17 Schoolhouse Road Danville PA 17821.
