Kenneth Franklin Weatherhill

Kenneth Franklin Weatherill, 92, of 5485 Perkiomen Avenue Reading PA and formerly of Danville PA passed away June 9, 2017 at Berkshire Commons in Reading PA.  He was born May 11, 1925 in Shamokin PA, the son of the late Charles and Goldie Leiby Weatherill. 

A devoted husband and caretaker, he was married for 72 years to Mildred Metzger Weatherill. They were married on February 24, 1945. 

Kenneth was employed as a truck driver for Follmer Trucking Company Danville PA for over 30 years, from where he retired. 

An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed small game and deer hunting with his son, son-in-law and grandsons.  He always enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, giving most of his vegetables away to his family and friends.  Kenneth was passionate about NASCAR.  His mechanical skills were noteworthy as he always enjoyed fixing things himself.  He loved his family and his greatest joy was spending time with them and participating in the lives of his grandchildren.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Eileen F. Webb and her husband Joe of Elverson PA.  He is also survived by four grandchildren; Bradley Webb and his wife Deborah of Mohnton PA; Keith Webb and his wife Shannon of Honeybook PA and Nathan Weatherill of California and Donelle Weatherill of Florida.  Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  Also surviving is one sister, Alice Cotner of Turbotville PA and one brother Raymond Weatherill of Coudersport PA.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. 

He was preceded in death by his son; Kenneth W. Weatherill on April 18, 2005, two brothers and four sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA.   Friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
