Elizabeth H. Bookmiller

Elizabeth H. Bookmiller, 90, formerly of Riverside, PA passed away Thursday evening, February 18, 2016 at Nazareth Memory Center at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph. She was born April 26, 1925 in Shamokin, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Dora I. (Campbell) Rothermel.  

Elizabeth graduated from Danville High School in 1943. 

She was married for 40 years to John C. Bookmiller who preceded her in death January 9, 1988. 

Elizabeth was employed at the Danville State Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide where she retired in 1984.  

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and walking. Elizabeth also enjoyed cooking and baking as well as driving her car.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.  

She is survived by one son; Scott J. Bookmiller of Snow Shoe, PA and three daughters, Sandy K. Witman of Bernville, PA; Suzi Concini of Riverside, PA and Sally Coppock of Knoxville, TN. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.   

She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Mae Kunkle and two brothers, Harold E. Rothermel and Philip I. Rothermel. 

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 57 N. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701-1309
