Naomi M. Ulrich

Naomi M. Ulrich, 94, of Danville PA passed away peacefully Monday, August 31, 2015 at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph Danville PA. 

She was born July 1, 1921 in Pottsville PA the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Mary Morgan Moser. 

She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1939.  Naomi graduated as a registered nurse from Geisinger School of Nursing Danville PA in 1942.  She also attended Columbia University in New York.   

She was married for 61 years to the late Paul E. Ulrich who died March 12, 2007.  They were married December 26, 1945. 

Naomi was employed as a registered nurse at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She taught at the Geisinger School of Nursing for five years and at the Danville Area School District Practical Nursing Program for 16 years from where she retired in 1984.  She received her Bachelor's of Education from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg PA in 1973. 

She was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ Danville PA where she served on various committees.  She also served as President of the Auxiliary of the Marine Corps League. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for several years and organized many bus trips at The Meadows. 

Naomi's passion throughout her life was nursing.  She also enjoyed traveling, camping and  spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  

She is survived by one son; Gary P. Ulrich of Mechanicsburg PA and one daughter; Janet N. Bowersox and her husband Cliff of Millmont PA.  Also surviving are three grandchildren; Jessica Manning and her husband Jason of Dallas TX; Zachary Ulrich and his wife Emily of Aurora CO and Brittany Stuck and her husband John of Mifflinburg PA.  Also surviving are three great-grandchildren; Caleb and Joshua Manning and Brianna Carper.    She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family with her pastor Mary B. Schmotzer officiating.    Burial will be held in Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City OK  73123-1718 or cancer.org/givehope.
