Dorothy M. "Dot" Ashton, 83, of Danville PA passed away peacefully
surrounded by her
family on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria
Danville PA. She was born July 25, 1932 in Bloomsburg PA the daughter of the
Arthur C. and Catherine Faux Phillips.
She was married for 31 years to Harry E. Ashton, Sr. who preceded her in
24, 1984. They were married December 21, 1952.
Dot was employed as a housekeeper at Geisinger Medical Center in the NICU
for over 20
years and later as a housekeeper at Gold Star Nursing Home in Danville from
where she retired.
Her enjoyments included listening to "Oldies" and watching the older Elvis
movies. When her family was around, she was the happiest. She will be missed
by them all.
She is survived by two sons; Harry E. "Bud" Ashton, Jr. and his wife Dot of
and William A. Ashton and his wife Stephanie of York PA and one daughter;
Ackley with whom she resided. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 11
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Russell Ackley,
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held
5, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street
PA with the Reverend Mary B. Schmotzer Shiloh United Church of Christ
Danville PA officiating.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM
until the time of service.
