Cynthia E. Reed

September 13, 2015

Cynthia E. Reed, 62, of  previously of Danville PA passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was born December 13, 1952 in Shamokin  the daughter of the late Fritz Nahodil and Elizabeth Wehry Berninger of Bloomsburg PA 

She graduated from Central Columbia High School 1970.  She received her LPN at Carl Sandberg College in Galesburg Illionois.   She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work at Bloomsburg University and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Marywood University in Scranton PA. 

In earlier years Cyndi had been employed as an LPN at several facilities including Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.   After graduating from college, she was employed as a social worker for most of her adult life. 

She was a member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church Danville PA.  She enjoyed attending Christian Women's Club in Danville for several years.   

Cyndi enjoyed playing tennis, needlework and traveling.  She was very fond of her dog, Roo.  One of her greatest enjoyments in life was helping children through therapy at numerous schools in the area.   

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son; Zachary S.  Hilliker of Williamstown NJ and one brother, Randy Berninger of Bloomsburg PA  

She was preceded in death by one son Derek C. Hilliker on July 4, 1997. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebrate Cyndi's life at a visitation time on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA. Services will be private at the Columbarium at Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville PA. The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Society 5001 Angel Canyon Road Canab UT  84741 or www.bestfriends.org/donate.
