Lucille Shenck Lynn

Lucille Shenck Lynn, 96, of Mahoning Township Danville PA passed away Monday, April 28, 2014  at Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall Danville PA. She was born August 7, 1917 in Mahoning Township Danville PA, the daughter of the late Lewis and Irene Giger Shenck. 

She attended Danville schools. 

She was married to the late Woodrow Lynn who preceded her in death on August 5, 1990.  They were married August 26, 1939. 

In her earlier years, Lucille was employed at H.D. Bob in Danville PA and then was employed as a seamstress by Milco in Bloomsburg PA for 42 years. 

She was a member of St. James (Ridgeville) United Church of Christ Danville PA and she was a life member of the Legion Auxiliary of Catawissa. 

Lucille enjoyed gardening, sewing, and knitting.  In her most recent years her greatest joy was the almost daily visits from her great- great nieces, Alaina and Ella McDonough. She enjoyed Alaina’s performances, playing whatever musical instrument she was given to play, and brushing her hair. She loved to hold Ella and make her smile. 

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a great-niece, Lori M. Swanger.   She was preceded in death by two brothers; Andrew Shenck of Riverside PA and William L."Bud"  Shenck of Catawissa PA and one sister, Lorene Shenck Wertman of Danville PA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services to be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM  at St. James (Ridgeville) United Church of Christ 2507 Bloom Road Danville PA with her pastor, the Reverend Richard J. Shearer officiating.  Friends will be received from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the church.   Burial will be held in Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg PA.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Columbia-Montour Home Hospice 410 Glenn Avenue Suite 200 Bloomsburg PA  17815.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
