Regina M. Scheetz

Regina M. Scheetz, 91, of 444 Logan Run Road, Rush Township, Danville PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2014 at her residence.  She was born June 27, 1922 in Irish Valley PA the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Reitz Dowd. 

She was a devoted homemaker throughout her life along with assisting her husband on the family farm. 

Mrs. Scheetz was a member of Rush Baptist Church Danville PA where she served on the Women's Missionary Society and faithfully taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She also served as the hostess for the International Harvester Collector's Club. 

She was a talented vegetable and flower gardener.  She loved baking and generously shared her baked goods with her family and community of friends.  Mrs. Scheetz's greatest enjoyment in her life was spending quality time with her family whom she adored. 

She was married for 61 years to the late Charles Milton Scheetz who passed away August 28, 2004.   They were married September 5, 1942.   

She is survived by one son, Paul E. Scheetz and his wife Tammy of Danville PA and two daughters; Shirley M. Bordner and her husband Donald G. and Mary A. Zubowicz and her husband Peter J.; both of Danville PA and her daughter-in-law Joyce Scheetz of Paxinos PA.  Also surviving are  nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son, Robert C. Scheetz, Sr.  in March 2012 and her grandson, Captain Robert C. Scheetz, Jr. on May 31, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. 

A Celebration of Regina's life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Rush Baptist Church 395 Rushtown Road Danville PA with Pastor Hugh C. Coulbourn, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Rush Baptist Church 175th Anniversary Fund or the Captain Robert C. Scheetz, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o M&T Bank PO Box 278 Shamokin PA 17872.
