Jean A. Walker Haas

September 30, 2014

Jean A. Walker Haas, 90, of Danville PA passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA.  She was born March 23, 1924 in Danville PA the daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Young Walker. 

She was married for 65 years to the late Francis E. Haas who preceded her in death July 9, 2006.  They were married July 1, 1941. 

She attended Danville Schools. 

Jean was employed for most of her life at the Danville Silk Mill..  She was also known as an immaculate housekeeper for many homes in Danville. 

She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville PA where she served alongside her husband as custodian for 12 years. 

Jean's greatest enjoyment in her life was cooking for her family whom she adored.  She faithfully prepared Sunday dinners with loving detail and a humble spirit.  

She is survived by one son, Ed Haas and his wife Ruth of Danville PA.  Also surviving are two grandsons; Brian S. Haas and his wife Dawn and Shawn C. Haas and three great-grandchildren; Kennedy, Brenden and Brady Haas, her great-niece Christine Keefer and her husband Terry and her great-great niece Miranda Sue Keefer.  She is also survived by her sister, Lois Cooke and her husband Luther Lee of Danville PA along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Share. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church 215 East Market Street Danville PA with her Pastor Trevor Hahn officiating.  Burial will be held in Straub's Lutheran Cemetery in Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 12:30 PM  until 1:45 PM. 

In lieu of flowers at the family's request, memorial contributions in Jean's honor may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund PO Box 417 Danville PA  17821.
