James R. Tier

April 29, 2014

James R. Tier, 86, of Aiken SC and formerly of the Sunbury area,  passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in University Hospital in Augusta GA.  He was born February 25, 1928 in New Jersey the son of the late Frederick and Alice Tier. 

He was married to Yjuette Beese Tier who preceded him in death. 

He was employed by Merck and Company, Inc. in New Jersey and at the Cherokee Plant in Riverside from where he retired. 

Jim  was a member of the German Shepherd Association and enjoyed raising and showing German Shepherds.  He was an avid golfer.  

He is survived by his faithful companion and best friend, Doris I. Remley of Rush Township PA and her children Cherie Glenn of Florida and Rick Remley and his wife

Nancy of the Upper Peninsula.  Also surviving is his only cousin, Joan Hampson and her husband Jim of Florida.  He is also survived by one niece and one nephew in California. 

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Tier of Sunbury PA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Jim's life to be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with Pastor Greg Molter officiating.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
