Eleanor Reynolds

Eleanor Reynolds, 84, of 123 Nicholas Avenue Danville PA passed away Monday afternoon, April 7, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA.  She was born August 20, 1929 in  Danville, PA; the daughter of the late Walter and Laura M. Girton VonBlohn. 

She graduated from Danville High School in 1947. Eleanor was employed by Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA in the laundry department, retiring in 1988.   

She was a member of Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ.  

Eleanor enjoyed sitting on her front porch which was located directly behind the Dunkin Donuts in Danville, PA.  Eleanor was well known by many as she always waved hello to anyone passing by.  She was a lover of old country music and was a member for over 60 years of the Rhythm Valley Playboys playing both the guitar and singing with her brother, Stuart and sister Mim and various friends filling in over the 60 years. Eleanor was an avid bowler for over 40 years.  

She is survived by two sons; Barry R. Reynolds and his wife Ellen of Danville, PA and Ronald I. Reynolds and his wife Pamela of Riverside, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Tanya Andrea, Jennifer Bowman, Christopher Reynolds and Andy Dalton and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Stuart VonBlohn and three sisters, Miriam Reichenbach, Esther Smith, and Ruth Weaver.  She was also preceded in death by her good friend and companion of 18 years, James (Jim) Reilly.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Friday, April 11, 2014  at 2:00 PM, at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 10 West Mahoning Street, Danville, PA with the Reverend Melody Sell officiating. Friends will be received from 12:30 PM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Danville SPCA  2801 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821.  www.visneski.com
