Donald E. Jones

Donald E. Jones, 77, of 100 Railroad Street Danville PA passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born June 1, 1936 in Danville PA the son of the late Kimmerer Jones and Martha Mae Bennett Jones. 

He graduated from Danville High School in 1955.  He was self-employed and the owner of Don Jones Sunoco Danville PA for 23 years.  Donald was also a self-employed painter, retiring in 1995. 

Donald was a member of St. Paul's-Emmanuel United Methodist Church Danville PA.  He was also a life member of Washington Fire and Hose Company #2 "Washies" of Danville PA.   

He enjoyed playing baseball and softball and watching various sports.  His greatest enjoyment was spending quality time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Ann Hack Jones whom he married October 10, 1956.  Also surviving are four daughters; Dawn Woodruff and her husband Howard of Scranton PA; Debra Enright and her husband Patrick of Danville PA; Darla Sidler and her husband Scott of Danville PA and Deann Jones of Danville PA.

He is also survived by five grandchildren; Hope, Brett, Kristin, Hilary and Colton and three great-grandchildren; Rease, Gage and Bridger.  Also surviving is one brother, David A. Jones of Shamokin PA and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by two grandsons; Jeremy Enright and Sgt. Hamilton Woodruff and two sisters; Dorothy Jane Jones in April 2001 and Esther Mae Jones in January 2013 and one brother, Kimmerer Jones, Jr., in infancy. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Donald's Life to  to be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's-Emmanuel United Methodist Church East Mahoning and Pine Streets Danville PA with Pastor Greg Molter officiating assisted by the Reverend Howard Woodruff.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Danville PA.  Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's-Emmanuel United Methodist Church 305 Pine Street Danville PA.  17821 or Washington Fire and Hose Company 400 Railroad Street Danville PA  17821.  Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville PA.  www.visneski.com
